Knock Knock Knock

Who's There?

An interesting question came up today... Was I looking to fall in love when I first met Hunter? Um, no I was a bisexual back then. I was seriously thinking I was just in love with guys. But a knock at my apartment changed that completely. I seriously thought this ditsy blonde had just gotten lost. I never dreamed it was the one that Edwin talked about.

To be fair in making that statement, the pictures he had of her were when they were kids. This was not a girl in overalls with blood smeared on her. This was a goddess in leggings and a shirt three times too big for her and in Sperries. "What's up?" Seriously dude did you really just say that. Her nervous grin grew wider and I knew she was laughing at me. "Is Edwin here?" Oh crap, she's in the right place and holy hell he has a babe of a secret girlfriend. Oh, well forget the bro code, snooze you lose! "No, but if you want you can wait on him on the couch."

The first intake of breath after she walked past me threw my senses out of control. Vanilla, spice, and bergamot hit me like dump truck going 80 mph. I stuttered like crazy as this girl literally plopped into my chair. Not really knowing where else to sit I sat on the couch arm, that was my spot. She looked at me with a nervous smile and I am pretty sure I gave a feeble attempt at a smile in return. She could read minds and that freaked me out. "Am I in your spot?" I looked at the floor and nodded. "Ok Dr. Cooper, I'll get up." That moment right there I knew I was going to marry her if only in my dream the rest of my life.

Edwin coming home and swinging her around gave me a ridiculous pang of jealousy. Edwin introduced as the girl in the overalls and everything clicked. She smiled and told Edwin how nice I had been. She hung out with us. My mind tried to focus on the fact that she was gorgeous but insanely smart. She wasn't like so many girls... She wasn't so blonde that she was dumb and she wasn't so geeky that she liked anime. It was like heaven was on earth for me, but she was friends with Edwin.

Over the next three years I seen lots of her and we became friends. I learned that she was very well rounded. How many guys know a bombshell that travels, reads (not just magazines or Facebook or fiction books) newspapers, nonfiction, etc, dances (real dancing), teaches, has many hobbies, tries new food and eats as much as they do, keeps a semi-open mind, has a schedule, works out, volunteers, and never stops trying to better herself? I think that's why I love her so much because she is the perfect woman.

Huntress

Dear Hunter,

We have been officially engaged for almost two months. My mind whirls when I think that I have actually been able to tell you I love you and you say it back. I wanted that so much while I was in college. Just to look at you during a quirky mood of yours and just stare longing at your eyes and lips and tell you that I love you. Being engaged now I can do that all I want until you hit me on the back of the head telling me to stop being weird.

That's what I think is amazing about us, we have everything. I am not going to be shy about it. We have the looks. We have others wanting us based on our looks and there are few that want us for more than but at the end of the day it's us together. We have that friendship love that is hilarious and nerve grinding at the same time. We may not always be together physically, but we have that kind of connection where it doesn't matter.

One of my favorite things about you is when you are deep in thought and then look up and see me staring at you... What do you do? You cross your eyes and stick your tongue out at me. Your oddness draws me to you. Sure you have magnificence body, but your wildness and braininess is what captivates me. There are several other things that are on my list.

Another one being, your beauty. I am not talking about your outside beauty but the inside beauty. I have never seen a person that is willing to give their time like nothing. You do that without even thinking. You are such a hard worker and that is astounding because so many people in this world expect that this world owes them something. You on the other hand give the world a bright outlook with your smile and attitude.

Our future together looks amazing. Our lives starting together in Tuscaloosa. This may just be the most amazing love of our time. I know we have more spunk than Odette and Chris. I am only joking. Our love is our love. I know the depths at which we are willing to sacrifice for each other. I love you so much.

Love your future husband,
Vincent

Whisper Something

...Dirty To Me, Baby!

So Hunter and I both are addicted to watching Youtube Videos. We both have our niches in the community that we watch weekly. Though there is the occasion where we watch a video together from the other's playlist or subscription list. This is what happened this morning on our way to church because we do something crazy each morning we go to church to really wake us up. Our girls are in the backseat watching Tinker Bell and Hunter and I are watching this:

So we decided to play it when we got home. I highly recommend playing Whisper with someone that you can really get into playing with that isn't a stick in the mud. Hunter and I have laughed really hard all day long. And it's pretty simple how to play.

You get complete sound cancelling earphones (good ones) and a music device (iPhone, iPad, iPod, MP3 Player, yadayada).

You create phrases for each other or pull some crazy ones off of the internet.

The two people sit facing each other. One of them wears the headphones with music playing really loud. The other person says the phrase. Then the person wearing the headphones has to guess what the other person says.

Trust me it is amazing how "Ride Out the Storm" sounds like "Hide out in the dorms." Or "A practical joke" sounds similar to "I sip a Coke." "Apple of my eye" can also be "Apply to my eye" --- Which I will admit she came close on that one!

It was fun for us to just laugh and have a good time with each other.

My Favorite Things Birchbox for Men

From The Past Few Months

Game Day Shower Gel: Body and Face Cleanser - I used this up and I did buy the full size of it. I do enjoy it. I can see how it would be great for using before a game or something where you have to be wide awake. It will perk your senses up full blown.

LUNATIL Seismik for iPhone - I use this case when I work out. It doesn't add too much bulk to my phone. It absorb shock when dropped. I like using this more than my Otterbox because of the size mostly. My otterbox makes me have to use a cargo pocket to store my phone.

würkin stiffs Power Stays - I wanted these for Christmas and didn't get them. I have them now thanks to Birchbox. I wear a lot of collared shirts for work meetings. I just need to remember to take these out before Hunter takes the shirts to the dry cleaners.

Baxter of California Hard Cream Pomade - I have started styling my hair again. Nate and I discussed how to get the perfect fanned look at the forehead. This stuff is great at that.

English Laundry Signature - Hunter disliked me wearing this but it was one of my favorite. She said that she likes a good musk. This was citrus instead. She warmed up to it. It wasn’t too much, but it was for sure enough. I also liked the price point on this one, $84/bottle.

English Laundry 3-in-1 Shampoo, Conditioner & Body Wash - I only used this as a conditioner. It was does great for that purpose since I use a lot of hard shampoos.

Luster NOW! Toothpaste + Distinctly White Set - I bought the set. I loved this toothpaste. It is great and the sets really makes a difference.

Davines Naturaltech Energizing Shampoo - This made my hair thick and a lot stronger. I haven't purchased a full size but I am thinking about doing that. Will it replace Big? No.

32 Oral Care Effervescent Breath Treatment - They are basically breathe mint Poprocks. And they work. Rain likes it when I eat these and try to talk because she can hear the pop.

RIADA by Adair Tiebar - I would have bought this for myself. It really liked this. I needed this for work and different things. I feel sharp when wearing this and everything.

Mr. Natty Willie Max’s All-Over Wax - I am buying the full size of this as soon as possible. It can be used all over and that makes very versatile for me. Perfect for my travels because of my fiance.

The Laundress Wash & Stain Bar - Hunter should be proud. I am saving this for Disney. Well for when we actually stay on property. It will be nice to have something to help wash stains out of our clothing.

Tommy John Loafer Liners - I really like these for my Sperry's. I already recommended them to my friend Nate so you know I love them.

All the Happiness Sucked Out of My Life and Never Happy Again

Well what if Hunter walked away from you?

I realized I had asked a question that was personal but don't reverse the topic on me about me. That is exactly what happened. And thinking about this makes me sick to my stomach.

When you wait for a certain person and barely thinking about anyone else for six years you realize just how badly you have it for them. So for her to walk away would feel like a Dementor had kissed me.

I would still be living but I am sure I would walk around like I had no soul. I would lose my zest for life but I wouldn't end my life. I would still do things with my girls but I can honestly say it would be hard to do so with how much they look like Hunter.

I would be like Odette. I would let Hunter walk away if she really didn't love me anymore or if I hurt her so bad she felt like she had to leave our relationship. Though, I know we have overcome so much already in our 6 months of being together.

Our six months are different than others. We have known each other for years but just didn't date so the months milestones kind of go out the door for us. We have a relationship built on trust, strength, friendship, and love.

She shines so bright to me, so for her to walk out I would feel like a dementor was not only near but also giving me their famous kiss.

No chocolate would ever help me.

My ice queen and I however have many years of Disney World together left to go.

Fresh Start Challenge Day 1: Vincent

V - Vocal
I - Immaculate
N - Nimble
C - Chaste (well it's true)
E - Engaged (to the best and sexiest woman in the world)
N - Nostalgic
T - Trouble

April Empties (Or Winter Products I Used Up Finally)

Dragon Mud Body Scrub - I like this. Hunter always wanted to touch my skin afterwards. Wait she always likes  to touch my skin. Maybe it wasn't this scrub. Either way it did make skin feel softer.

Big Blue - I throw this into my tub and I'm gone. I have fell asleep several times in my tub here recently.

Dirty Springwash - I don't use this every day but I do use it when I'm in a rush.

Sandalwood Woodgrain Soap - This has to be my favorite thing to wash with now. For starters, it looks like wood which is just mind blowing. Then it smells good.

Shave Set w/Bowl Antique Ivory - Hunter got me this for Christmas and it ranks in the top 3 as the best Christmas presents I have ever received.

Newport After Shave - I won't forget this first time I used this. Hunter had a glazed look on her face for a long time and her voice wasn't it's normal squeaky self. I may have to shave a lot on our honeymoon.

Dirty Shaving Cream - Hunter has me hooked on this and I don't think I could go back to a different shaving cream.

Tea Tree Castile Liquid Soap - 16 oz - This is worth it's weight in gold. Hunter has made me try all kinds of products for my acne. She resorted to handing me this. I may never need Grease Lightning again!

Grease Lightning - Speaking of that glorious product. When I do have a stray acne pop up this gets rid of it instantly.

Clarisonic Plus Skincare Brush Kit - Hunter swore by hers. She uses hers every other night. I have to admit this plus the Tea Tree Castile Liquid Soap has done amazing things to my skin. I'm not so ashamed to have Hunter run her fingers down my chin and neck.

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 Mint & Shea Butter - Hunter has her lip balm that she can't live without and this is mine.

Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Age Defense for Eyes - In reality I do not want to have crows feet or bags in my forties so I am taking a lesson from my fiance and putting on the eye cream.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Kiehl's Since 1851 Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion  - This has also helped with the acne I know for a fact but I don't always use this. I do swap to a toner so it's not so harsh on my skin.

Woodspice Amber Talc - This wasn't what I wanted from this product at all. Yeah it smelled good but as far as working for keeping things non sweaty yeah that didn't happen.

Dirty Body Spray - I use this after working out in the morning. It helps me feel better.

Harrods Fire-Breathing Fizzy Sour Favourites - I felt like Dumbledore eating these sweets.

To Whom It May Concern,

I want to thank you. Your so called impatience made me the luckiest guy in the world. And trust me you don't have the patience I do. I waited hours, days, weeks, months, YEARS. When you want something bad enough you wait. And for her I would have waited 1,000 years.

She knows she can be herself around me. She can go hunting. She can go massive shopping. She can go see her family without me hounding to see her as well. I let her do what she wants to do and find things that make her grow instead of just staying put on a couch or a bed.

Those big blue eyes come alive with many emotions. When I started to get to know her again they were filled with pain, clouded by uncertainty but rimmed with freedom. As time went by those eyes shined with excitement, glittered with admiration, and were wide with liberation. The polite smiles went to a constant grin that still is brighter than 100,000 watt light bulb.

Her brain was filled with uncertainty too, but that was quickly diminished by herself. She realized that you weren't worth her feeling like crap over. People (well really just one person) told her that it's shame the two of you couldn't have made things worked. And you know what she said? "It's perfectly, fine I like what God is doing in my life now."

To make her feel like a million bucks doesn't mean you have to spend money on her. Trust me she spends that on herself when she wants to or feels like it. You actually ask SELFLESS questions about Disney, make-up and teaching. Then you actually and have an intelligent conversation. Don't bring up being together. She knows it.

Want to know why she doesn't like to cuddle? She is sure of herself. Cuddling is like trying to cover up insecurities. Why have we snuggled? Because it's cold. It's not like having someone cover you up so you don't look bad anymore. What do we do since we don't cuddle? We sprawl out on the floor. Four empty couches are surrounding us and we are piled up on the floor.

Didn't you hear the resentment of her giving up her dreams? Sacrifices have to be made to really love a person. Do I want to be away from her for 5 months? No. But I will drive 10 hours each weekend and I have a child too. If she doesn't want me to come down there am I going to throw a fit? No. She cares about my well being too.

And the whole thing trying to get buddy-buddy with her family? Every single one of them have thanked me for not being clingy. You have your own family be clingy with them. Honestly? Her brother was so happy the two of you broke up because it meant he got to see his sister again.

Honestly, all of these mistakes were for my benefit like I said, so once again thank you. You paved the way just like our mutual friend said you would have done so.

I have loved talking to her listening to the passion of the things she loved. I have loved watching her fall in love with mothering acts with my daughter. Seeing her excitement when the Disney World in .... Miles sign showed up. Seeing her face when she got Olaf on her cup. Watching her dance for hours while still trying to keep her gaze on me. Laughing when I scooped her up and carried her across ever threshold she has including her London one.

Finding out every little detail. Loving the slight glances of her body I get now and again. But there is one thing that bothers me the most. RESPECT her! She said she didn't want to have sex at all until marriage. Don't start telling stories of girlfriends past and what they did of course that would have put doubt in her mind. So no as bad as I want to think about sex with her I don't. I enjoy more things about her. So you enjoy your car and buggy.

I'll be dancing in Norway while having a cup of tea with a blue eyed bombshell from Alabama.

God Bless
Vince.
